On the East Coast of Tasmania, just one hour from Hobart, surrounded by the crystal blue waters of Great Oyster Bay, lies the perfect celebrity hideaway. Thalia Haven, named after one of the three Graces in Greek Mythology, sits on a 130-acre secluded coastline, 2km away from its nearest neighbour.

Built from East Coast stone, black limestone and weathered beams repurposed from a heritage bridge, this eco-friendly property takes its energy from the land, air and sun. But don’t let that fool you, Thalia Haven may be rustic but it exudes pure luxury.

There are four ancient stone bedroom pavilions surrounded by a 1000 tree olive grove with lavender, thyme, daisy and cypress gardens, all chosen to ensure the garden is in bloom all year round. The property sleeps a maximum of 8 people, with each bedroom pavilion having glorious oceans views, a king size bed, Egyptian cotton sheets and a custom-made duvet.

The lounge area features a colossal single stone fireplace, and is equipped with games, puzzles, paints and yoga mats. A feature window wall gives a brilliant view of the Hazards of Freycinet, Schouten Island and a collection of islands famously referred to as the Hens and Chickens Islands. For food lovers and cooks the kitchen at Thalia Haven is that of a gourmet chef’s dream, and is well stocked with every want and need.

If all of that isn’t enough to entice you too book, then soaking in an outdoor heated bathtub with a glass of champagne in hand and views of the phosphorescent ocean and hundreds of thousands of stars certainly will!

With unbeatable prices of $800 AU/ night for two people (minimum of two nights year-round except December to February with a minimum of three nights) it’s impossible to say no to a hideaway holiday at Thalia Haven.
